Variable Frequency Drives are the single highest-ROI investment for any motor-heavy factory. By controlling motor speed electronically, a VFD eliminates the energy wasted by throttle valves, dampers, and fixed-speed pumps and fans. For Morbi's ceramic factories — which run dozens of ball mills, spray dryers, and pressing machines — VFD adoption is not optional, it's essential.

What We Offer

  • Supply — Authorised dealer for Siemens SINAMICS, ABB ACS, Schneider Altivar, Delta VFD, Danfoss FC series, and more
  • Installation — Proper cable sizing, EMC filters, input/output reactors, and braking resistors where needed
  • Commissioning — Motor tuning, PID loop setup, acceleration/deceleration ramp setting, fault configuration
  • Integration — Fieldbus integration (Profibus, Modbus, Profinet) with your existing PLC or SCADA system
  • Training — Operator and maintenance training on every installation

Energy Saving — the Numbers

Fan and pump affinity laws mean that a 20% speed reduction from rated speed gives a 49% reduction in power draw. A 50% speed reduction gives nearly 87% power reduction. With VFDs:

  • A 30kW ball mill motor running at 80% speed uses only 51% of the power
  • A typical 200kW spray dryer fan saves ₹8–12 lakh per year with VFD control
  • Morbi ceramic units typically achieve 30–45% reduction in motor electricity cost
  • Return on investment is typically 12–24 months

Applications in Morbi's Ceramic Industry

  • Ball mill drives — variable speed grinding control, batch timing
  • Spray dryer fans and atomiser drives — precise airflow control
  • Kiln car drives and conveyor systems — synchronised speed control
  • Cooling fan drives — energy-optimised airflow
  • Press hydraulic pump drives — pressure-based speed control
  • Glaze line pump drives — accurate flow control

FAQs

How do I know what size VFD I need? +

VFD sizing depends on motor kW/HP rating, load type (constant torque vs variable torque), starting torque requirement, and ambient temperature. Share your motor nameplate details and we'll recommend the correct drive size and type.

Can a VFD damage my motor? +

A correctly installed VFD with proper output filters (dV/dt or sine wave filter) will not damage a standard motor. When driving older motors or long cable runs (>50m), we install output reactors or dV/dt filters as standard practice.

Do you supply VFDs from stock or on order? +

We maintain stock of Delta VFD, Siemens SINAMICS G120, and Schneider Altivar in common ratings (0.75kW to 75kW). Larger or speciality drives are sourced on order with 5–10 day lead time.
